Dear TLL Families,

First and foremost we hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. In these unprecedented times we are faced with, family and friends are of paramount importance to our well being.

Although baseball and softball may seem unimportant at times, we here at Tigard Little League are still working to prepare for a season - in whatever form that may take. If there is a chance we can safely salvage a season then we want to provide the opportunity to all of you that want to participate. Below I will outline our current stance as well as options for you and your families if you choose to call the final out of the season.

Our guidance is given to us by both Little League International and State and Local officials. Currently, LLI has only suspended the season until May 11th and we expect to hear around that date what further steps are recommended. At a state level we are awaiting further guidance from them on returning to the field. In an outline today, published by oregonlive.com, it looked as though youth sports were considered a phase two “opening” which would align with a date sometime in May.

I am sure many of you think that it may be impossible but we at TLL are still holding out hope that we can play. Youth sports are an important part of our community and when we are able to return to some level of normalcy Little League will be an important part of the healing process.

We also want to be cognizant of the impact this has had on many of you financially. And in that spirit we are willing to offer refunds to those that request one at this time and will begin processing them ASAP. If, at a point in time, it is determined that the season is cancelled, we will begin processing refunds for all.

Due to the timing of the onset of the pandemic the league has already incurred significant costs and the long term viability of the league must be taken into consideration. When this passes we need to be able to serve the 600+ players in our community next year. To that end, we have considered those costs when determining the following.

  • T-Ball, Coach Pitch and single A will receive a 100% refund if requested
  • AA, AAA, Majors and Juniors will receive a 75% refund if requested.

If you want to request a refund please email our treasurer and player agents at the following email address. We will get to requests as soon as possible.

We hope that you are safe and we also hope to see you all soon out on the fields.

Best,
Joshua Breese
